THANKS FROM WARLOCK ASYLUM
Big ups and massive thanks to all the amazing people who came out to show on July 12th at Webster Hall Studio - your energy and appreciation made it truly an awesome event for us!  And more massive thanks to special guests Matt James who joined us on drums, and Fung Chern Hwei on the wah-wah/fuzz-tone amped-up violin - and of course to the intense artists that we got to share the stage with: VAST AIRE (of Cannibal Ox fame), the equally amazing OutofaWhole, Kenyattah Black, Kev Bars and  Reservoir Sound,  for upping the game and bringing the 22nd Century Hip-Hop into reality 90 years before you'd ever expect it - and to MergeMusic and Marie the soundwoman and everyone else at Webster Hall for making the whole thing happen!! W.A. Thanks You!

For those who missed it here's a taste of what we brought to the stage - videos courtesy of Amadi Xii:

NEW NOVEL BY MESSIAH-EL BEY OUT NOW!
Warlock Asylum's Messiah-el Bey has just authored and released his latest novel - Brooklyn Geisha -  the true story of Amaya Taoka, the founding mother of the Necronomicon Tradition. Although, she was widely respected for her business practices and endeavors, Taoka was also revered for her spiritual insights that she shared with her students in private. Her life has been a source of inspiration for activists, artists, magicians, poets, and women from all walks of life.

You can get your own copy on paperback at Warlock Asylum's store on Lulu.

WARLOCK ASYLUM GETTING BUSY BACK IN THE LAB
Warlock Asylum has returned to the studio and is close to completing three new tracks.  These tracks feature a new direction for us - more song oriented, funkier and witn more organic elements in comparison to our first album.  The new tracks of Vigilante Love, There In America, and I Wanna Be Good have all become recent favorite at our live shows so we're excited to get these completed and available for downloads soon.  Our plans are to release a little later a limited edition enhanced CD-R with all of these new tracks + a few videos taken from a few of our recent live shows - and if all goes to plan get the single out on 7" vinyl record later on as well. :)

A huge thanks also goes out to the whole Merge Music crew for putting together a great lineup and including us in it!

THANKS TO THOSE WHO CAME TO OUR L.E.S. TAKE OVER!
A huge thanks goes out to all those who came out to our second live gig ever on July 14 at  the Alphabet Lounge in Manhattan's Lower East Side.   For this show not only did Megan Berson join us on electronic violin (amplified/looping/and triggering synth and sampled sounds via midi), but drummer extraordinaire Ryan Diehl added an additional live element upping the level to even funkier and harder hitting.

A big shout out also goes to Madeleine Twyman and her excellent band and dancers that performed a great set after ours - and to Kaitee Page of the incredible electro-indie-pop band Lunic for her presence and video taping the entire show.  We hope to be able to post some videos of the show up on this site and YouTube soon.

THANKS TO THOSE WHO CAME OUT FOR OUR LIVE DEBUT!
Big ups to all who came out to our first live show ever on June 2nd at the Trash Bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn - your positive responses are greatly appreciated and made it a truly awesome event for us - and a huge thanks to Kachi Rufino and everyone in Outofawhole and Magnificent Creatures for making the event happen and giving Warlock Asylum a reason to exist outside of the lab!!
